{"id":385,"date":"2016-10-09T18:22:56","date_gmt":"2016-10-09T18:22:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sandbox-dev.utk.edu\/engage\/?p=385"},"modified":"2018-03-29T18:27:41","modified_gmt":"2018-03-29T18:27:41","slug":"the-math-behind-vols-perfect-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandbox-dev.utk.edu\/engage\/the-math-behind-vols-perfect-play\/","title":{"rendered":"The Math Behind Vols Perfect Play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pierce Anderson, a freshman in the college, ran the math behind Josh Dobbs\u2019 improbable last-second game-winning touchdown pass to Jauan Jennings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI decided to calculate the optimal velocity for the pass for a few reasons,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cPrimarily, we were learning about projectile motion in EF 151 at the time of the game, so it was fresh on my mind. Due to a football pass exemplifying this concept, I came up with the idea soon after the game.
