Brian Wirth is an expert in nuclear fuel and structural material performance in nuclear environments. This research is fundamental to enhancing reactor component longevity and developing high-performance radiation-resistant materials for advanced nuclear fission and fusion energy applications. Wirth is the UT-Oak Ridge National Laboratory Governor’s Chair for Computational Nuclear Engineering.
